My Profound Thoughts

Simple yet subtle.. Profoundly silly yet thought-provoking.. Sums up life..

The Sign

It was a day off for both of us. We went to see our friends’ newborn. We spent some quality time after a long while. It was an hour and a quarter one side drive, but through the summer greens it was indeed an amazing experience.

On our way back, we had alternate spells of sunshine and rain, and sometimes both together.

And, do you know what I saw?

“…a beautiful double rainbow.”

I love rainbows and I see them often these days. But this one was an awe moment for me, as I have never seen one of this kind before.

People believe that rainbows are a good sign, especially double rainbows. I don’t know much about it.

However, it reminded me something else; indeed the covenant of God, the promise God made to Noah and all the living creatures on Earth:

And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come:

I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.

Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds,

I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life.

Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.” (Genesis 9:12-16)
