Are you patriotic? What does being patriotic mean to you?
I’ve been residing in a foreign country for years now. But that hasn’t changed my patriotism in one bit. My country is an emotion to me, the national anthem of which portrays the beauty and diversity of my sub-continent.
Although there are many corrupted socio-economic and political practices I may not agree with that happens in my country, I still am patriotic. My love for my motherland comes from my upbringing, from my experiences of what I learned, saw, heard, felt and tasted as I grew up.
A little glimpse or hint of our culture, people, cuisine, outfit, languages, and even the feel of the soil beneath my feet reminds me of my home, my homeland. Yes, I don’t live there, but it lives in me. I am a true patriotic at heart.
To me being patriotic means living up to the values that you have been taught, being human and kind ; this portrays you, your culture, and what you can offer to the world. It glorifies the beauty and the character of the country you were born and nurtured.
India is an emotion that never leaves me no matter where I am or what I do, I represent my country. I believe that regardless of what decisions I make in life, my feelings for my native place will follow me to my last breath.
Much love ❤️ God bless
